Embark on a 6-day spiritual journey through India’s most sacred Buddhist sites – from the enlightenment grounds of Bodhgaya to the peaceful ghats of Varanasi. Walk in the footsteps of Lord Buddha as you explore ancient caves, majestic stupas, and UNESCO heritage ruins at Rajgir, Nalanda, Kushinagar, and Sarnath. A perfect blend of heritage, peace, and devotion – ideal for seekers, families, and cultural explorers alike.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN GAYA | TRANSFER TO BODHGAYA
• Meet and greet upon arrival at Gaya Airport, then transfer to hotel in Bodhgaya.
• Check-in and enjoy lunch at the hotel.
• In the afternoon, visit the Mahabodhi Temple and the sacred Bodhi Tree.
• Dinner and overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
DAY 2: BODHGAYA – DUNGESHWARI CAVES – BODHGAYA
• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Full-day excursion to the Dungeshwari Caves, where Lord Buddha practiced severe penance.
• Visit the cave shrine with the emaciated statue of the Fasting Buddha.
• Explore another cave housing a 6-foot tall statue of Buddha in meditation.
• Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
DAY 3: BODHGAYA – RAJGIR – NALANDA – PATNA
• After breakfast, check out and drive towards Patna.
• En route, visit Rajgir, including:
• Gridhakuta (Vulture’s Peak)
• Venuvana Vihara
• Bimbisara’s Jail
• Continue to Nalanda after lunch to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Nalanda University Ruins.
• Proceed to Patna, check-in at the hotel.
• Dinner and overnight stay in Patna.
DAY 4: PATNA – VAISHALI – KUSHINAGAR
• Breakfast and check-out.
• Drive to Kushinagar, stopping en route at Vaishali to visit:
• The Ashokan Pillar
• The Relic Stupa
• Lunch at a local restaurant.
• On arrival in Kushinagar, check-in at the hotel.
• Time permitting, visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple and the Rambhar Stupa, or do so the next morning.
• Dinner and overnight stay in Kushinagar.
DAY 5: KUSHINAGAR – VARANASI
• After breakfast, drive to Varanasi.
• Check-in at the hotel upon arrival.
• Later, visit Sarnath and its museum (closed on Fridays).
• Dinner and overnight stay in Varanasi.
DAY 6: VARANASI – DEPARTURE
• Early morning boat ride on the Ganges River to witness the sunrise.
• Visit the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
• Return to the hotel for breakfast.
• Lunch at the hotel or packed lunch, followed by transfer to the airport for onward departure.
