Siem Reap: Temples, Traditions & Timeless Wonder!

– DAY 1. SIEM REAP ARRIVAL
AM/PM: Pick-up at Siem Reap airport then transfer for check-in (early check-in depends on room available).
– DAY 2. THE RUIN ANGKOR
AM: Visit to the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century) : the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara.
PM: Visit to the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture.
Continue to view a wonderful sunset from the Top of Phnom Bakhen Hill. Overnight at hotel.
– DAY 3. THE FLOATING VILLAGE & LOCAL CRAFTS
AM: We drive to Chhong Khneas village, the floating village located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Visit the village and take an excursion in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body and, one of the largest in Asia. The experience is wonderful as we pass by floating village, friendly children in small boats and fishermen. Return to city and continue to visit "Les Artisans D`Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles", this center works with young artisans; the team creates, produce and market a unique collection of ornamental sculpture, lacquer, silk weaving and silk painting. The company promotes fair and sustainable development in order to provide benefits to rural communities.
PM: Visit Preah Ang Chek, Preah Ang Chorm and Ya Tep.
These were said to be two Angkorian Princesses. Inside the shrine are two statues, originally thought to be in Angkor Wat itself. The figures are thought to be around 1,000 years old and were unearthed in the 1950s. The taller one represents Preah Ang Chek, and the shorter Preah Ang Chorm before shopping at Old Market one of the various traditional markets in the Siem Reap area and the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs and curios of any of the traditional markets. And the area around the Old Market is burgeoning with shops, galleries, restaurants, bars, massage and more. The Old Market is located on the river at the south end of the Old French Quarter. Visit the "Les Artisans d'Angkor – ChantiersEcole" the Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts & local market.and guide will bring you to visit Wat Bo which is a large, highly respected pagoda, vihear of Wat Bo contains very unique wall paintings of the Reamker that are said to be late 19th century.
– DAY 4. SIEM REAP DEPARTURE
AM/PM: Transfer to the airport for your departure, taking with you unforgettable memories of Cambodia’s rich history and culture.
